In June 2026 Charles Werb will attempt to set 3 Guinness World Records:
We’re going to do this sustainably, by only using the wind and sun to power our scientific and communication equipment.
As the world’s climate changes we need to know what’s happening to the world’s major ice sheets, particularly The Subarctic, The Arctic Circle, Greenland and Antarctica.
Much of this data gathering work is done by satellite these days but ground-truthing is still necessary. This is where ground-based scientists, come to the forefront and by having a Ground Probe Radar attached to the Snowsailer, we will be taking measurements to ensure that the data that the satellites are collecting are correct.
This will help us better understand what is happening to Arctic ice, and how it might impact our word in the future.
